Just a quick ‘thank you’ for all my birthday wishes. The whole day was good and finished with a lovely meal among friends.
You have all been so very sweet. Thank you.
Today began on a whim. I fancied a soft boiled egg for breakfast with soldiers (two slices of toast). What could have been simpler? Once the egg was in the pan I looked for my egg cup! I looked everywhere, I was on my knees to the cupboard where it should have been and I was moving and taking out my crockery but still no egg cup. I decided that whilst I was down there and the cupboard now being half empty with plates strewn all around me that I would clean said cupboard forgetting completely that I had an egg on the boil. So now I have to clean the stove too where the egg exploded.
The toast did not get burnt and that was breakfast!
Seems it doesn't take much to please me but I nailed it. Bring ‘em on, I’m truly the boss, king of the world.
Yes, this morning I folded my fitted sheet … correctly. Now I just have to remember what I did, no seriously, I did it a few times just to make sure it wasn’t a fluke. I was so happy I knocked on both my neighbours (each side of me) to show them this accomplishment and they looked at each other (and I guess rightly so) as if I was mad.
I feel so smug!
I want to thank all those in the past for the links to the video sites showing how to do this. To be honest they weren’t really that easy to follow, but anyway, I am now the master.

I hate folding fitted sheets! LOL
I bet that felt so good. I can almost imagine their expressions.
I just realised, and I still do it, but I still look for the meaning in the words of songs.
It’s not just the meaning but also if I can learn a lesson in life from the words.
You’d think that as I get older there wouldn’t be much to learn, but I do. With every day that passes I learn.

First off, that's the beauty of a working brain.
Secondly, I do the very same thing. Music is an amazing thing that way -- that human connection is so potent.
Have to love it!
How's this for a make up mask?!!
Spotted it on FB among others but this one I thought won as it stood out by miles.

That's amazing! Love it!
She takes the cake. :P
A couple of years back I saw a tutorial for something similar on YouTube by a guy, username is petrilude. You should look it up- he's so talented, I've learned a lot from his videos.
Trying to choose my words carefully here without feeling guilty but I had a very good day yesterday. I had to think there for a second as the day also involved a solemn occasion.
So with a hectic (but good) weekend out the way I now have nowt planned till the end of the month, which incidentally is my birthday. It’s a shame that ‘events’ fall on the same day w/end, it’s typically like waiting for a bus for ages and a load all come at the same time.
Still not complaining …. never complaining.
It's been raining all night and it still hasn't stopped. The ‘grounds’ will resemble The Somme today as we consecrate the headstone, had it have been any other event I would have pulled out.
In other news my heaters are officially on for the winter.
Last year we buried my cousins’ wife and this Sunday sees us back at the ground for the ‘Stone Setting’. We allow about a year for the ground to settle. The headstone will be consecrated by a rabbi as he prays with the mourners and friends that will be there.
I’m of an age now where I attend more funerals and stone settings than I do weddings and bar mitzvahs and during the prayer for the deceased I know my mind will wander to thoughts about my own parents.
In the evening I am off to a happier occasion, a 50th wedding anniversary and again I know my mind will dwell awhile on my parents.
It’s that time of year for me to remember the past as I look out on a gloomy day where my eyes will swell yet all the time have a smile on my face as I allow my thoughts of the past to rush in.
My recent holiday to Spain was wonderful. The weather was brilliant made even more pleasurable by the fact that back home they were having a freeze, until of course we had to return to it!!
Anyway, although I took some great pics there were very few of the scenery as they were mainly of friends.
So here goes….
This is me of course in the pool which was shared by just me and my host..
…great pose, say hi!
My pics so we’ll follow that one with yet another of me… what a body!
There was about a dozen of us in total with most having there own apartments out there, as you saw I was lucky to stay with my very close and dear friend Alan and of course ‘the pools’ to his complex!
This is Alan and myself at a park that had a bar and loads of individual barbeques that people could just come over to and do a little grilling. Great idea.
We found a jazz bar called just that ‘The Jazz Bar’ that was Andalucía’s secret as it was just superb, the tapas were amazing with a string of different types of jazz played from Thursday to Sunday. I did take a video of some of the entertainers but it just didn’t come out so here is some of our gang instead….
…and finally the Three Amigos (see what I did there?)
So Alan, Jeff and myself sitting on the Mediterranean… great times.
Like with anything where I go away from home, I was glad to be back with the familiar and my organised life.

Great photos Steve! And it looks like you had a terrific time. :). You came back when I went away.. Now some day I will have to put up my photos! :) missed you on here friend .
Looks like you had a wonderful time, great pics :)
I’ve been catching up with a lot of offline stuff, trust me that when I’m seen on FB it doesn’t mean I’m ‘there’ as it’s the easiest thing in the world to click a like button. I do this simply to let others know I’m alive.
Now to catch up on what I’ve missed!
